Story takes place in London during the 1890s and centers on a young woman named Anna. Anna’s detective agency is at the center of town and is successful due to the mass popularity of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s novels. There is one catch however. A woman solving crimes in 19th century England was unheard of so in order to maintain her business, Anna set up a scheme in which a longtime family friend, Robert, poses as the detective while Anna secretly solves the mysteries. She poses as Robert’s maid. Anna’s father is a college professor and her uncle is the police inspector. This is where she learned her detective skills.
